The Boys Soccer Teams hosted the John Stark Generals tonight and split the games against the Generals. The JV team lost 5-0 which ended their win streak at 2 games. The Varsity team continued on a roll by beating John Stark 8-1. Bryce Larco got the win in net and the offense overpowered the Generals Defense in the win.The teams play next, this Saturday, at Hollis Brookline at 9 am.
More About Soccer teams splitCongratulations to the Boys Soccer Teams on their wins yesterday afternoon at Plymouth.The JV team won 6-0. Alvaro Canas kicked in 6 goals and Eben Barb had 4 assists, while Asher Maguire and Lukas Magnum each had an assist as well. Braedon Orlen and Maverick Spirito had the shut sharing time in goal.The Varsity boys continue to pick up wins with a 2-0 win over Plymouth, and sit atop the standings in D2. The Golf Team played their final match of the season and picked up a win over Pembroke 234-235.The top 5 scorers scored between 44 and 48. The Milford Boys Cross Country Team took 6 of the Top 11 spots and the team beat out Conant and Mascenic in the Conant Homecoming Race. Logan Korthals, Will Whitley and Chase Paiva took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and Josh Coates and Colin Kirby placed 9 and 10 to finish the scoring for Milford. More About Tuesday ResultsThe Golf Team traveled to Atkinson Country club for a match with Hollis Brookline, Timberlane and Merrimack Valley. Timberlane took the match with a score of 215. Hunter Kolesar and Killian O'Connor took honors with a score of 45. The team will wrap up the season today at Portsmouth Country Club, assuming we can work out busing or are able to move the match. Stay tuned. The JV Football Team traveled to John Stark and beat the Generals 20-7. Jack Bonifilia and Devin Woods scored for Milford and Ian Smith caught a two point conversion. Tucker Sabotka ended the game with an interception to lead the defense. The Volleyball teams hosted Campbell High School last evening and came out with two victories. The JV team won their match 2-0 and then the Reserve team gave a valiant effort in the 3rd game but came up just short. Campbell tied the Varsity match up at one game each, before Milford turned up the heat and beat the Cougars in the next two sets to win the Match 3-1. Kassidy
More About Monday ResultsThe girls soccer team traveled to John Stark High School on Friday afternoon and shut out the Generals 0-0, Molly Miles had 7 saves in the tie game. The Football Team hosted the Generals and were in a great game for most of the first half but a few big plays late in the first half into the second half, gave John Stark the win. The Volleyball Teams hosted John Stark on Saturday morning. The reserve team started out hot, but the Generals came back to win all three sets. In the JV match, the Generals won the first set, but the Spartans came back to win the next two sets to win the Match.In the Varsity Match, the Spartans jumped out big to win the first two sets, but had to come back and win the 3rd set. Although there were some spectacular wins this last week, the Bass Fishing team won out team of the week award by coming in 7th out of 32 teams and qualifying for the state tournament on October 5th at Winnisquam Lake. The JV Team won in thrilling fashion 2-1 with 2 goals by Alvero Canas and an assist from Asher Maguire and Eben Barb. The Varsity team won 4-1 with 2 goals from Joonas Mangum and 2 by Avery Wilson. The golf team hosted the first match of the year at Amherst Country Club yesterday afternoon, but could not top Hollis Brookline or Souhegan. More About Tuesday September 24th Athletic ResultsThe JV Football team hosted Hollis Brookline on Monday afternoon and it was a defensive battle from the outset. Cooper Boissonneault had an interception to help the defensive cause, however the Cavs were able to beat the Spartans in overtime 12-6. Jack Bonafilia hauled in a 40 yard pass from Phillip Wright to set up the lone Milford score. The JV and Varsity Volleyball Teams traveled to Manchester Central and had no trouble with the Big Green in 3 set shutouts.In the varsity game, Piper Greenhalgh made 22 digs, Kassie Cupin had 11 assists, Abby Krulis had 10 spikes for points. More About Monday Athletic ResultsThe Golf and Varsity Football Teams opened their seasons on Friday and Saturday respectively. The football team faced a strong candidate for contention to reach the finals this year, but were unable to upset the Bobcats. The Golf Team traveled to Whip or Will in Hudson. Hunter Kolasar led the Spartans with a 40, followed by Will O'Connell with a 47, Jack Bastarache with a 48, Will Bertoncini a 50 and Killian O'Conner with a 54. More About Weekend ResultsSaturday, the Milford 4 x 800 relay team of Logan Korthals, Will Whitley, Grant Skorupan and Senior Daniel Sixon took 15 place in all of New England. Daniel then raced home where he gave an animated speech to those gathered at Graduation. Later in the afternoon, Will, Logan, Avery Wilson and Kenyon Sora finished in 10th place in the 4 x 400 relay finishing ahead of all other NH entries. Will Whitley and Charles Cevasco will complete this weekend in the State Decathlon Championships to finish out the Spring Track and Field Season. Congratulations on a great year.
