The Girls Lacrosse team opened their season at home today but could not hold off the Giants, but were able to score 3 goals by Payton Gaj, Paige Duby and Kaelyn Grzyb. The Boys Lacrosse team traveled to Plymouth today. They could not beat the Bobcats but played with a lot of heart and teamwork today. More About Monday Athletic ResultsThe boys tennis team battled, but lost to a tough former D1 Merrimack team yesterday. While the overall match score was 2-7, it does not reflect how competitive all of the matches were. All singles and doubles matches were exciting to watch. Will Emerson and Brady O'Connor were able to win a close number 1 doubles match 8-6, while Marcus Kern and Javier Goodwin were able to bring home a "W" for their number 2 doubles match as well, also 8-6. More About Tuesday ResultsThe tennis teams got the 2025 Spring season started for the Spartans yesterday. The Boys Tennis Team traveled to Alvirne High School to compete against a former D1 team. Javier Goodwin won his singles match at #4 with a score of 8-5 and Marcus Kern won his singles match at #5 with a score of 8-4. Although all doubles matches were competitive, the boys came up short and fell to the Broncos 2-7. More About Esports Finishes 6th at State CompetitionCongratulations to the Varsity Girls' Basketball Team on a 37-29 Semi Final win over the Cougars of Derryfield last evening at Pinkerton Academy. The Spartans led 12-9 after one quarter, 16-13 at the half and held a slim lead after 3, 26-25. In the 4th quarter, the Spartans shut down the Cougars 11-4 to move on against Oster River on Saturday at the UNH Gym at Noon.Claire Cote led the way for Milford with 11 points followed by Lexi Bausha with 8 and Avery Fuller and Ellianna Nassy with 7. Lexi Bausha hit a big 3 point shot in the 4th quarter providing the late game spark and Milford made 8 of 14 free throws in the final quarter to seal the win. Lulu Maguire provided some deflections on defense while Shea Hansen guided the offense.Hope to see the whole town of Milford in Durham on Saturday!!
More About Girls Basketball Pulls Off Win to Advance to the FinalsThe Girls Varsity Basketball Team hosted the quarterfinal matchup against Coe Brown Northwood Academy on Saturday night to a packed gymnasium with standing room only. The Spartans started strong and finished strong to pick up the win 55-42. Shea Hansen led the way for Milford with 14 points, and 4- 3 point shots and Avery Fuller pitched in with 12. Claire Cote and LuLu Maguire were right behind with 9 points each. Ellianna Nassy and Lexi Bausha also played some great defense, while Ellie and Avery controlled the boards. The team will travel to Pinkerton Academy on Wednesday, March 12th to play 3rd seeded Derryfield in one semi final for the right to play at UNH for the Championship on Saturday. Laconia and Oyster River will play the other Semifinal Game. Tickets for the Semi Finals are $7 for Adults and $5 for Students. Hope to see you all there on Wednesday at 5 pm. Go Spartans.
More About Girls Basketball moves on to SemifinalsWe had a busy week of programs over Break. On Friday the Milford Varsity Basketball Team travelled to Hanover to play the Bears. It was a slow start, but Milford took control in the 3rd quarter and went on to a 59-28 win. Lexi Bausha led Milford with 14 points followed by Claire Cote with 13 and Shea Hansen with 10. The teams outscored Hanover 21-1 in the 3rd quarter. Wrestling - The Wrestling Team participated in the NH D2 States on Saturday and placed 5th overall. More About Vacation Week Athletic ResultsThe girls basketball team held off Pembroke academy Friday night to clinch the second seed heading into the DII tournament with a 14-3 record. Another great team effort that will be hard to beat in the playoffs. They head into Saturday's quarterfinals with a 6 game winning streak including big wins against top seated teams Derryfield and Pembroke. Game is slated for 7pm.
More About Girls Basketball Clinches Playoff SpotThe Boys Basketball Teams travelled to Manchester West and the JV team got things started with a 46-38 win. Malakai Blay scored 18 points for Milford and Kris Carr chipped in with 9 to lead the Spartans. The Varsity Boys played top 4 Manchester West tough, but could not overcome the Blue Knights in a 54-42 loss. After the first quarter Milford held West to only 32 points for the last 3 quarters. In Milford the Girls teams hosted Derryfield. The JV team played tough but lost 28-23. The Varsity Girls had a tough match up with the number 1 seeded Cougars and came back in the 4th quarter to beat Derryfield 37-35. Avery Fuller led the way with 9 points and made 3 of 4 from the line in the 4th quarter to hold off Derryfield. Ellianna Nassy scored 6 and none bigger than the go ahead bucket, a baby hook with under 30 seconds to go.
