More About Wrestling Dominates Against Merrimack
Congratulations to the Unified Basketball Team on a win over Wilton Lyndeborough yesterday afternoon. Mike Stafford and Hailey Motard played some great defense while Chris LaMarche dominated the boards. Natalie Lambert and Tyler Vailancourt ran the show on offense. The Girls Basketball Teams made their way to Laconia yesterday afternoon and the JV team beat the Sachems 40-32.The Varsity Team had a rough outing and fell to Laconia 50-31. The JV Boys cam up big in a 66-40 win. Parker Antonowicz led Milford with 18 points, followed by Dylan Barber with 12 and Lukas Neubeck with 10. Cooper Pare was all over the floor with some great defense and rebounding and Carter Macias also did a great job on the boards.The Varsity game went back and forth throughout, but Laconia shot the ball well and overcame the Spartans 74-68. Ben Emerson and Tyler Constable led the Spartans with 27 and 22 points respectively while Ethan Szopa played some great defense.

Friday night the Basketball Teams played Plymouth Regional High School in 5 games. The Boys teams traveled to Plymouth. The Reserve team made a valiant effort but lost to the Bobcats by one 37-36. The JV Boys lost 63-41 but showed some improvement from Tuesday.The Varsity Team picked up a 70-53 win. Milford jumped out to a 21-10 first quarter lead and held the Bobcats to 5 points in the final quarter with some great defense in route to the win. Ben Emerson led Milford with 24 points followed by Tyler Constable with 11, Will Emerson and Ethan Szopa with 9 and Alex Butterfield with 8. The JV Girls jumped out earlier on the Bobcats and then held on for a 30-28 win. Jordyn Shaw led the Spartans with 17 and Noelle Cotreau chipped in with 8.The Varsity team battled until the end but could not overcome a balanced Bobcat attack as Plymouth won 44-36. On Wednesday, January 14th the Wrestling team traveled to Bishop Guertin for a dual match and won 54-28. Frankie Jurvera and Phil Wright each won by Pin. The Admiral Hockey Team hosted the Merrimack, Hollis Brookline and Derryfield Coop and won 4-2. Dylan MacLeod and Mason Tomkins each had a goal and Luke Green had an assist for Milford. On Thursday, the Spartan Unified Basketball Team traveled to Merrimack and beat the Tomahawks 54-48. Graham DePrima and Tyler Vaillancourt each had 14 points for Milford, while Natalie Lambert led the team with numerous assists. Michael Stafford continued to lead the defensive stance with a great steal and Chris LaMarche held down the boards with double digits.Congratulations Spartans.

The Boys Basketball teams traveled across lines to Amherst to take on a Varsity Team that beat us by 20 in the Holiday Tournament, however that did not get the Spartans down, it only fired them up more and came away with a 53-48, more important, regular season victory. Milford was down 26-21 at the break but outscored the Sabers 21-13 in the 3rd quarter and shut them down in the 4th to pick up the win.Tyler Constable led Milford with 19 points on 5 3's, followed by Ben Emerson with 13 and Ethan Szopa with 12.The Reserve and the JV did not have enough firepower to outscore the Sabers as they each fell to Souhegan in the prelim games. The girls both hosted the Sabers and both games went down to the wire.The JV Team came back from down 10 in the 4th quarter to take the lead before Souhegan scored the last basket to beat Milford 34-33. Friday Evening the Boys Basketball teams hosted a strong Reserve, JV, and Varsity Basketball Team. The Reserve team got down early but battled back to pull within 10 before falling 48-28. Anthony Bergeron led the Spartans with 8 points, followed by Ryan Clark with 6 on two three point shots. The JV team had a very similar game and battled back early in the 4th quarter before eventually falling 62-42. Dylan Barber led the Spartans with 11 points followed by Jacob Hill and Parker Antonowicz with 9 each. Cooper Pare did well defensively for Milford and Carter Macias did well on the boards. The Varsity game saw a number of lead changes throughout the game, but the Spartans could not pull out the win in a 72-70 loss to a very talented and physical Merrimack Valley Team. The Admiral Ice Hockey Team hosted Goffstown yesterday evening and picked up a 5-2 win over the Grizzlies. Luke Green, Chris Bozza and Jameson Thurrott scored for the Admirals and Dylan MacLeod had an assist. The undefeated Wrestling team also hosted undefeated Goffstown yesterday evening in a clash of the titans. Milford jumped out to a lead, before the match then went back and forth with multiple lead changes, however Goffstown finished strong to win the match 45-26. The Unified Basketball Team travelled to Pinkerton for a match up with the Astros yesterday afternoon 64-46. Alex Crisler was on fire hitting 5 3 point shots during the contest scoring 23 points for the game followed by Graham DePrima and Hailey Motard with 10. Mike Stafford had the play of the day on defense while Chris Marchand was a rebounding champion.

On Tuesday December 23rd, the Wrestling team traveled to Hollis Brookline and Beat the Cavaliers 36-30. Max Hammerstrom, Kane Davis, Tanner Herbert and Eli Wales all won by pin while Joey Fay and Jameson Noble both won by forfeit. The Milford track and field teams went up to UNH on December 27th and had a lot of success! The girls team placed 4th out of 16 teams overall. Rachel Sixon led the Spartans, winning the 1000m and placing 2nd in the 1500m. Rylee Coates was 2nd in the 1000m, Zoe Rick placed 3rd in the Shot Put, and the girls 4x160m relay team of Rylee, Rachel, Leila Lessage, and Jada Jones placed 4th. Evangeline Grochala also had a great meet, running a personal best in the 1000m. The boys team was led by Grant Skorupan's win in the 3000m. Josh Coates placed 4th in the 1500m, Landon Jacquet was 7th in the 1000m, and the boys 4x400m relay team of Josh, Landon, Brendan Courtney, and Marek Luba finished in 6th place. Friday Night was an exciting evening for the Spartans as Unified Basketball opened the Season and the Varsity Girls Basketball Team Celebrated their 24-25 Championship with the Ring Presentation and the Unveiling of the Banner alongside three Alumni from the late 70's Championships, Carroll Goldsmith, Mona St. Cyr Kluz and Jeanette Tripp. The Unified Team started things off with an exciting win over Souhegan. Milford jumped out early before Souhegan even the score after halftime only to see Milford take control in the 4th quarter to win it by 10. Congratulations to Natalee Lambert, Graham DePrima, Alex Crisler, Chris LaMarche, Hailey Motard, who all needed to step up as two members were out sick. The Swim team traveled to Salem on Friday night .Willa Audley placed 1st in the 100 Backstroke and 2nd in the 200 IM, qualifying in both for the state meet. Hannah Baron won both the 200 Freestyle and the 100 fly and also qualified for the state meet.For the boys Liam Cardin made impressive improvements in his two races. On Saturday the ESports team traveled to Southern NH University for the end of the Fall Rocket League Championship. The Games were played to a best of 3 match.In pool play the team opened against Pembrooke and lost 2-0, then beat Goffstown 2-0 before falling to Plymouth.The team entered the Bracket Play as the 7th seed, but fell to Bedford 3-1 in the first game and then 1-0 in game #2 to lose the match 2-0, but now without a good fight.
