Milford High School
Marc Maurais was honored by the NHIAA for his lifelong dedication to high school athletics in New Hampshire on November 17 2024 by being inducted into the NHIAA Hall of Fame. During his 31 year career as athletic director at Milford High School, the school earned 19 state championships and three Sportsmanship awards. He was named DII Athletic Director of the Year in 2019, Administrator of the Year by the NH Football Officials Association 5 times and received the Tony Urban Unsung Hero Award in 2020. More About Boys Soccer Advances to the FinalsSaturday the Cross Country Team participated at the Meet of Champions and the Boys team finished 13th of the 18 top teams in the state. Will Whitley finished 52nd, Grant Skorupan 70th, Chase Paiva 73rd, Josh Coates 108th, and Colin Kirby rounded out the scoring for Milford at 121.Jaylyn Paul who qualified as an individual finished in 47th place, the 6th fastest freshman in the race.Congratulations on a great season. The Volleyball and Boys Soccer Teams were Co-Teams of the week: On Friday, the Girls Volleyball Team started a bit slow, but were able to come back and win the first two games. Laconia won the 3rd game, before Milford came back to win game 4 and the match 3-1. The team will next face Coe Brown in the Semi Finals at Pinkerton Academy in Derry on Wednesday, November 6th at 5 pm.Hope to see you all there. More About Weekend Tournament ResultsCongratulations to the Girls Volleyball Team on a 3-0 shut-out of St. Thomas Aquinas yesterday afternoon. STA played tough but could not overcome the strong play of setter Kassie Cupin to hitters Abby Krulis and Savannah Watson. The team next hosts Laconia for a 6 pm match up against the Sachems on Friday in Milford. Please know that the NHIAA will charge admission for this game. $5 for Adults and $3 for Senior Citizens and Students. Season Passes cannot be used. Hope to see you there. The Boys Soccer team learned that they will play Coe Brown on Saturday at 5 pm. Coe Brown knocked off Souhegan to earn the right to play Milford.Hope to see you all on Saturday. Jaylyn Paul will be in the 2:30 pm Meet of Champions Race on Saturday at Alvirne High School, followed by the Boys Team at 3:20 pm. More About Volleyball Dominates in First Round Playoff ActionThe Girls Soccer Team traveled to Merrimack Valley yesterday afternoon to take on the 7th seeded Pride. Merrimack Valley scored 1st to take the lead into the half. Milford made an offensive adjustment in the second haft to come back and tie the game 20 seconds into the second half from a crossing pass across the front of the goal and scored by Lexi Bausha, however the Pride was able to get a couple break away goals later in the half to take a 3-1 lead. Milford knocked on the door a few more times in the second half but could not score, so the Pride will move on to the Quarterfinal round. Great effort by the Spartans and great job by our seniors who never gave up.
More About Girls Soccer ActionThere were many games with play-implications played on Friday. The Girls Soccer team tied Lebanon 1-1 to put them in a 3 way tie for 10th place with Keene and Souhegan. As best I can figure, Milford will travel to Kingswood on Tuesday for a 3 pm start. The Boys Varsity Soccer team playing shorthanded, solidified its #3 seed with a 2-1 win over Lebanon and will have a bye in the First Round and will likely play the winner of Coe Brown and Souhegan on Saturday at 3 or 6 pm. The Girls volleyball team locked in their 3rd place finish in the regular season with a 3-0 win over Manchester West on Friday. The volleyball team will host St. Thomas on Wednesday at 6 pm in Preliminary Round action. With a win on Wednesday, Milford would host a quarterfinal game again on Friday. The Boys JV Soccer team had a tough time with Lebanon but never gave in, in a loss to the Raiders. The JV Girls Volleyball Team finished the regular season undefeated with their 3-0 win over Manches
More About Weekend ResultsMilford had a tough night against Souhegan but never gave up. The Volleyball teams traveled to Souhegan. The reserve team lost the deciding game for a 2-1 loss. The JV team beat the Sabers 2-0. Souhegan then upset the Spartans 3-0, although the 1st and 3rd game were decided by two points. The Spartan Girls Soccer Team Seniors were recognized prior to the start of the game, but could not overcome the Sabers in a 1-0 loss. LuLu Maguire got her first minutes on the pitch for the fall to start the game and helped lead seniors Joselyn Shaw, Kaleigh Lloyd, Molly Miles, Claire Cote, and Kaylee Meedzan. Clara Barbetta, the Team Manager was honored as well. Thank you to all you have done in your 4 years here in Milford.
More About Wednesday Night ResultsThe Boys' Soccer Team hosted Souhegan yesterday afternoon on Senior Night. The JV team got down 1-0, but battled back to tie the game at one, which is where the game ended. Braedon Orlen played well in goal for Milford. The Varsity broke out in a big way in route to a 5-1 win over the Sabers. Avery Wilson scored 4 goals to reach the 50 goal mark for the season. Fellow Seniors Bryce Larco, Vinny Arsenov, Tyler Staiti, Kenyon Sora, Tyler Ireland, Joonas Mangum, Jake Neubeck and Joshua Berry all played well for Milford as we honored all the Seniors. The Team plays its final game of the regular season on Friday at 4 pm vs Lebanon on the Soccer Field.

More About Monday's Football ActionThe Girls Soccer Team hosted Pembroke on Friday night and played to a 1-1 tie. Claire Cote scored the lone Milford goal of the ricochet off the crossbar. The girls host their Senior Game on Wednesday evening at 6 pm vs Souhegan. The Boys Soccer Teams won both of their games at Pembroke 2-1.The JV team had a goal and an assist each from Alvero Canas and Lukas Magnum.The Varsity Team won their hard fought win looking to earn a bye in the first round of the play-offs.Their Senior Game vs Souhegan will be on Tuesday at 6 pm. The Varsity Football team traveled to St. Thomas in Dover on Friday night and was unable to beat STA in a 42-6 loss. The Team hosts ConVal on Friday Night at 7 pm and will honor the Seniors from Football, Fall Spirit and Band.
