Winter Teams Kick Off the Season

The majority of the Winter Season was in full swing this past weekend.
The Girls Varsity Basketball Team started things off on Friday Night at home vs John Stark.
The Spartans started slow but picked up the pace in a 52-30 win. The defense picked up the pace in the 2nd quarter to help earn the win.
The Boys Basketball Teams traveled to Weare to take on the Generals. The JV team got things started with a 56-36 win, however the Varsity Boys team came up just short in a 67-64 loss.
The Swim Team traveled to Londonderry, The boys team came in 3rd with a win over Alvirne in the 4 team meet and the girls came in 4th out of 6 teams with a win over Wilton Lyndeborough and John Stark.
Willa Audley and Jasmine Blay won and qualified for two state meets each as did Jack Bastarache on the boys side.
Danika Works started the season with two personal best times while Quinn Johnson crushed his times in his two events, doing much better than his practice runs in his first ever swim competition.
On Saturday the Wrestling teams were both at Invitationals with the JV team at a tournament in Concord where all 10 wrestlers placed. Brendan Mazerall, Kane Davis, Devin Woods, Carter Beebe, Jack Clancy and Joey Schnitzer all won their respective divisions. Mya Coombs and Liam Ferris took 3rd, and Braydon Butler and Noah Lumibao took 4th.
The Varsity Team took second overall in their Tournament at Souhegan High School named in honor of Tom Sawyer. Jace Wilhelmi, Kiki Lorden, Nate Post and Tanner Herbert all placed 2nd, Eli Wales placed 3rd and JJ Enright and Noah Kittredge placed 4th.
The ESports team participated in the first ever Rocket League Tournament. Members of the team were Liam Cardin, Casey Jones, Ethan Villeneuve and Gabriel Ayers. The highlight of the day was an exciting goal scored in their final game of the day, playing at the ESports Arena at Southern NH University.
The bowling team played its second match of the season, playing a player down for the second week in a row being outscored by Holy Family and Hollis Brookline. Tristan Xavapy scored his first game of the year over 100, as Annelise Silva also scored a personal best.
The Track and Field Team traveled to Phillips Exeter for their first Meet of the Season.
Avery Wilson placed 2nd in the 55 meter dash, Logan Korthals was 4th in the 3000 Meter run., and Kenyon Sora placed 6th in the 300 Meter Run.
The 4 x 200 M relay team of Avery, Kenyon, Cam Lewicki and Josh Pettingill placed 3rd while the 4 x 400 M relay team of Logan, Grant Skorupan, Josh Coaches and Chase Paiva placed 5th.
On the girls side, Rylee Coates placed 5th in the 300 Meter Run while the 4 x 400 M team of Bella Cornaro, Cat Carter, Rylee and Grace Mucheru placed 5th.
The Team of the Week this week goes to the Varsity Girls Basketball Team who won the first game of the season over the team that beat them in the play-offs last season. The Varsity Wrestling team also earned team of the week honors with a win on Wednesday and an impressive second place finish at the Souhegan Tournament.
