The Lady Spartans fought to a hard-earned 0-0 tie in overtime against ConVal High School on Saturday. Milford came out strong, controlling much of the first half and creating several scoring chances but couldn’t capitalize getting the ball in the net. ConVal pushed back in the third quarter, and the fourth saw both teams trading possession before heading into a scoreless 7v7 overtime.

Freshman Norah Cardin was outstanding in goal, making 27 saves to secure the shutout. Allie Cardin and Lea Lyons impressed at midfield, driving many offensive chances, while senior Willa Audley led the attack with relentless effort. Lily Webster and Paige Bernier anchored the team’s strength on the field, and senior Violet Renda selflessly stepped out of goal to play in the field, making key contributions. Raiyne Bailey returned strong on defense, helping hold ConVal scoreless.

Though the Spartans are still waiting for their breakthrough goal, their effort, teamwork, and determination continue to shine.

This week, we have a Player of the week honor to go out to Jack Bastarache who had the top score for the matches on Wednesday and Thursday at Amherst Country Club. Jack shot a 38 on Wednesday which tied him for the honors and then came back the next day to shoot a 40  which led the pack. Jack also led the team with a 43.5 average for the season, led the team in every match and has qualified for the Individuals Championship on Tuesday, October 14th. Congratulations and Good Luck at the Championship Round, Jack!
